Kobe Bryant's signature sneaker line with adidas was brief but impactful, leaving a lasting legacy in performance basketball sneakers. Despite Bryant's estate now having a deal with Nike, his earlier adidas models continue to resonate, re-released without an official tie to Bryant. One of these iconic models is the adidas Kobe, now rebranded as the adidas Crazy 1. Following the recent reveal of the original Playoff colorway's return, adidas is set to drop the Crazy 1 in a striking Red Suede makeover this September.
Reminiscent of the famous Raging Bulls colorways popularized by the Jordan 5, this new iteration of the Crazy 1 features an all-over red suede construction. Traditionally, the Crazy 1 utilized synthetic materials on its upper, but this version opts for a luxurious suede finish. The design remains faithful to the original Audi TT Roadster-inspired silhouette, showcasing a two-tone upper.
Black accents on the lace set, sockliner, tongue, tongue lining, and heel tab contrast the vibrant red suede. A debossed Trefoil logo on the heel tab and a yellow taillight design above it underscores the car-inspired aesthetic. The sneaker sits atop a black midsole and rubber outsole, encapsulating an EVA cushioning system for optimal comfort.
The adidas Crazy 1 Red Suede will release in September 2024 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
