adidas has been delving into its rich archive of basketball designs, bringing back the futuristic design language that was a hallmark of the brand in the late '90s and early 2000s. One such design that continues this philosophy is the adidas Crazy IIInfinity, a modern update to the once-signature sneaker of Kobe Bryant, the adidas Crazy 1. After a period of silence on new colorways, adidas is set to launch the Crazy IIInfinity in a sleek Chalk White makeover, adding a fresh twist to this innovative silhouette. Alongside this pair, adidas is bringing back the Crazy 98, another one of Kobe’s sneakers, in its OG Lakers Home colorway.
The adidas Crazy IIInfinity Chalk White features a synthetic, rubber, and mesh construction, staying true to the original design ethos while incorporating modern updates. The sneaker maintains the familiar shape of the adidas Crazy 1 but introduces new details and reworked branding that elevate its aesthetic. The upper is predominantly coated in creamy white hues, with varying shades on different panels, adding depth and dimension to the design. Integrated Three Stripes on the midfoot and toe seamlessly blend into the sneaker's overall look.
At the same time, a small infinity symbol on the heel nods to the sneaker's name and pays homage to Kobe Bryant's enduring impact on the world. Enhancing its futuristic appeal, the Crazy IIInfinity features a mesh shroud that covers the tongue, collar, and lacing setup, secured by a functional zipper. This design element adds a contemporary touch and ensures a snug and customizable fit. Underfoot, a creamy rubber outsole provides excellent traction and durability, making the sneaker as functional on the court as it is stylish off of it.
The adidas Crazy IIInfinity Chalk White will release in June 2024 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
