As adidas continues to revisit and reimagine its classic silhouettes, its approach has led to the revival of one of the most distinctive sneakers in its archives - the Crazy 1. Originally the signature model of Kobe Bryant, the Crazy 1 has long been celebrated for its unique, futuristic design. In 2023, adidas breathed new life into this iconic model by introducing the Crazy IIInfinity, combining nostalgic elements with contemporary innovation. Following the launch of the Metallic Gold colorway and previews of the Lakers rendition, adidas is bringing a familiar color scheme to the Charcoal colorway.
Drawing comparisons to the Air Jordan 3 Fear for its color palette, this version of the Crazy IIInfinity showcases a harmonious blend of grey, black, and orange hues. The Audi TT Roadster-inspired upper is adorned with synthetic materials in a dominant grey shade, complemented by a rubberized toe cap featuring subtle indented Three Stripes branding. The upper is enveloped by a mesh shroud, adding to the futuristic appeal, concealing the lacing system beneath and offering versatility in styling. The sneaker's innovative design extends to its cushioning system, where an EVA midsole provides comfort and support, essential for on-court performance and everyday wear. Distinctive orange accents are strategically placed, highlighting the toe cap and present on the outsole's heel.
The adidas Crazy IIInfinity Charcoal will release via END Clothing on January 20, 2024, while a wider release via adidas and select retailers online and in-store should take place in the coming weeks. Available in men’s sizing, the sneaker will retail for $160. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest updates on releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
