Donovan Mitchell is one of adidas Basketball's current tenured athletes. After signing with adidas in 2015, his first signature sneaker, the DON Issue 1, would debut in 2019. Now, adidas and Mitchell are gearing up for the release of his latest signature sneaker, the adidas DON Issue 6, fresh for Summer 2024.
The adidas DON Issue 6 features a textile and synthetic upper providing lockdown support. An anti-abrasive toe cap ensures longevity by adding extra protection to the part of the upper that makes the most contact with the hardwood. LIGHTSTRIKE and LIGHTSTRIKE PRO cushioning elevate the DON Issue 6 with maximum comfort. A propulsion plate supports lateral take-off, while a TPU heel clip ensures stability.
Regarding colorways for the adidas DON Issue 6, expect a wide variety to be released well into 2025. Four initial colorways will drop, followed by Team iterations and possibly some special edition pairs. For the debut, expect a pink-based, multi-colored pair and a lime green, orange, and black pair. A Spider-Man-like pair in black, red, and blue pays homage to Mitchell's Spida nickname and the iconic Marvel superhero, while a clean blue, white, and black pair rounds out the set.
The adidas DON Issue 6 is set to debut on July 5, 2024, in the Energy Shift colorway. More colorways will follow throughout the year. They will be available via adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, retail is set at $120.
