Landing somewhere between streetwear and luxury fashion, Aime Leon Dore has made a name for itself through its inline releases and collaborative efforts. Even with its founder, Teddy Santis, now leading the charge for New Balance’s Made In USA line, the NYC native is still finding time to work with his bosses through the ALD label. While we all are awaiting the release of ALD’s take on the 860v2 and new renditions of the 550, images have surfaced of an Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 1906R.
Tackling the recently revived 2010s runner, Santis and co bring creamy shades mixed with silvers and greens throughout the design. Acting as the base layer is an open-faced mesh in a creamy hue that allows the triangular-shaped overlays to shine in their green and silver finish. Green overlays land along the toebox portion while we see the midfoot’s panel take on a clean silver finish. Tonal cream laces work up the tongue and pass through silver and green eyestays, landing just below the co-branded ALD and NB tongue tag. More ALD branding is visible on the insole, while the rest of the upper sticks to its usual New Balance logos. Finishing the upper is the dark green sockliner and TPU heel counter, while a white midsole and dark green rubber outsole complete the look.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 1906R is set to release on May 4th, 2023 through New Balance, Aime Leon Dore, and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
