Though Aime Leon Dore is most famous for its collaborations with New Balance, the brand has ventured outside this territory with Timberland. Previously working with the heritage boot brand on three separate occasions, a fourth Aime Leon Dore x Timberland project is here, and the duo has chosen the Timberland Mid Lace GTX Boot for its latest work.
Crafted from full-grain leather coated in a Gore-Tex membrane, the boot, last released in 1991, comes in two colorways: Brown and Black. On the Brown pair, a faux croc skin texture is applied to the leather panels around the toe, midfoot, mudguard, and heel, while the Black rendition sees a faux stingray texture embossed throughout these panels. Both pairs feature peccary-embossed nubuck collars accented by soft, hairy suede. Custom lace dubraes are also featured here, with the Seal of Borough of Queens surrounded by ALD branding and the Roman numerals “MMXIV,” indicating the year ALD was founded. Final details include the EVA footbed, padded leather collar, and a lugged outsole, with both pairs' tooling in a black shade.
The Aime Leon Dore x Timberland Mid Lace GTX Boot Pack is available today, October 18, 2024, through Aime Leon Dore and Timberland online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $195. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
