Sneakerheads may remember Hender Scheme for their Air Jordan-inspired hand-crafted vachetta leather sneakers, but the brand also works on more traditional footwear. Marking the first collaborative project for Hender Scheme and Timberland, the duo have crafted a 3-Eye Lug Boat Shoe using locally sourced untreated full-grain leather from Japan.
With such high-quality untreated leather, the silhouette will patina beautifully over time, allowing for each pair to be unique as time goes on. Not only will the pairs be unique due to the patina, but because the leather is untreated, each pair comes slightly different out of the box, making no two pairs alike. Outside of the ultra-premium construction and small Hender Scheme logos added to the lateral collar and insole, the look of the silhouette remains unchanged.

Timberland logos are stamped along the midfoot and attached to the sockliner through a woven tag. Kiltie tassels on the toebox, raw leather laces, and tonal stitching help complete the upper. Below, the sole unit comes in a tonal finish.
The Hender Scheme x Timberland Authentic Boat Shoe releases via a raffle on Hender Scheme’s website that will close on March 16, 2025. Winners will be selected on March 18, with shipping beginning on Friday, the 21st, the same day as the Hender Scheme first-come-first-served release on their website. The pair will be exclusive to Japan and retail for around $350.
