In celebration of the Year of the Dragon in 2024, Jordan Brand has a slew of colorways planned on retro silhouettes, including the Air Jordan 2 Low. Other models, like the Jordan 1 Low OG, Jordan 38, and the Jordan 1 Low SE, follow a similar color scheme and theme, as does the adult version of the AJ 2 Low. However, two new versions of the Jordan 2 Low CNY have been revealed via in-hand images.
The Air Jordan 2 Low Chinese New Year Pack includes three distinct versions, each limited to just 2,024 pairs, reflecting the year of their release. The first version of the sneaker, coming in GS sizing, showcases an innovative mix of faux reptile skin textures, featuring green on the lateral side and gold on the medial, creating a vibrant and festive look. Red accents are prominently featured on the heel, eyestays, and the iconic Wings logo on the tongue, adding a striking contrast.
The second pair in the pack, the women's version, opts for a more understated elegance dominated by a clean white base. Red accents along the side panel, eyestays, and the Wings logo complement this. Black detailing on the heel tab and sockliner provide a sleek touch, but the highlight is undoubtedly the embroidered dragon details across the upper, symbolizing strength and good fortune.
Finally, a men's pair features a faux reptile skin panel on the midfoot with gold accents featured on the trim of this panel and the Wings logo. Red hues dominate the heel tab and sockliner while the rest of the upper comes in sail. Aligning with other pairs in the CNY collection, we see jade hits located on the eyelets, insole, and portions of the outsole
The Air Jordan 2 Low Chinese New Year Pack will release in January 2024. Currently, it's unknown whether or not these pairs will be exclusive to China considering they are each limited to 2,024 pairs. The men's and women's pairs will retail for $165 while the kids' pair has yet to be announced.
