As Paris Fashion Week unfolds, sneakerheads turn their attention to the runway for collaborations pairing high-fashion labels with footwear brands. Japanese fashion label Auralee presented the New Balance WRPD Runner in two colorways as part of its Spring/Summer 2024 show, helping debut the model. The partnership follows successful collaborations, including New Balance 550 and 2002R versions.
New Balance's WRPD Runner stands out for its organically shaped, minimalist upper and futuristic aesthetic. A mesh layer forms the base with circular panels at the toe, eyelets, midfoot, collar, and heel beneath suede overlays. A distinctive N logo sits on the midfoot, while co-branded details adorn the insole. Complementing the upper is a chunky, molded FuelCell foam midsole utilizing NB's latest cushioning tech for comfort. The colorways maintain Auralee's tradition of monochromatic palettes, as seen in previous collaborations with sleek black or tan options. Custom packaging finishes things off for this collection.
The Auralee x New Balance WRPD Runner in Tan and Navy will release on April 18, 2024, through Auralee, Kith, New Balance, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has to be announced.
