The collaboration between Chinese skateboard label Avenue & Sons and adidas continues redefining skateboarding footwear's aesthetics. Following their earlier venture this year, which saw a series of distressed designs on classics like the adidas Campus 80s ADV and Adimatic, the duo is back with a fresh take on skate culture. Their new release, the Avenue & Sons x adidas Skateboard Pack, is a testament to the evolving partnership and a shared vision for skate footwear.
This latest collection brings a darker, more mysterious vibe to the streets, including the Forum 84 Low ADV and the adidas Adimatic. Both silhouettes are reimagined in a moody palette of black and grey, a stark contrast to the lighter shades of their previous collaboration. The essence of skateboarding is captured in each pair's distressed and well-worn look. Vibrant pops of color embellish the designs, with the Three Stripes on the midfoot, heel branding, and interior sections featuring bright, eye-catching tones. A unique aspect of this pack is the worn-away effect on the Three Stripes, which reveals a hidden layer of pink as the sneakers are worn over time, symbolizing the dynamic nature of skate culture. The design is completed with a scuffed-up midsole and a semi-translucent outsole that transitions from purple to pink.
The Avenue & Sons x adidas Skateboard Pack released on November 9, 2023, through adidas China. The pairs will likely be exclusive to the region. The Adimatic is priced at ¥899 (approx $123), while the Forum 84 Low ADV is set at ¥849 (approx $116).
