Angelo Baque’s Awake NY has fostered a prosperous relationship with various footwear brands, most notably with Jordan Brand. However, for the Brooklyn-based clothing label’s latest project, they're collaborating with famed UK boot maker Dr. Martens on two colorways of the Lowell silhouette.
Unlike traditional Dr. Martens products, Awake NY’s take on the Lowell model utilizes a hair-on leather, a light layer of pony hair that covers all of the paneling. The two options include a Navy Peony color scheme and Vibrant Green, utilizing the titular hue across the hair-on leather. Providing a break from the tonal look, encompassing the panels and stitching are metallic silver pops on the eyelets, appearing in the shape of a star.
Within these eyelets sits another contrasting color in the form of a lace set, pink on the blue-based color and orange on the green pair. Adding to the premium construction is the natural leather sockliner, contrasted by the grey leather panel on the heel. Below, the silhouette features the iconic Dr. Martens tooling set up with yellow stitching details.
The Awake NY x Dr. Martens Lowell Pack will release on December 6, 2024, through Awake NY, Dr. Martens, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $205.
