One of Boston’s premier sneaker and streetwear retailers, Bodega, has a well-established history of collaborations, particularly with Japanese sneaker giant Asics. With 2024 marking the 10th Anniversary of their first collaboration, Bodega, and Asics are back to celebrate this milestone with a fresh take on the ever-popular Gel-Kayano line. Following up on the success of their Gel-NYC collaboration last year, Bodega has chosen the Gel-Kayano 20 as the canvas for their latest project. This silhouette has gained attention for its heritage within the running community and its renewed appeal in fashion circles, thanks to the growing interest in techy mesh runners.
While full images of the Bodega x Asics Gel-Kayano 20 have yet to be revealed, a teaser has surfaced via Bodega, providing a glimpse into the design direction. The sneaker features a mix of TPU, leather, and mesh panels, dressed in a fall-ready olive green, tan, and cream color palette. Bodega’s branding is subtly incorporated on the lateral heel, just beneath the classic Gel-Kayano 20 text, highlighted in yellow. The midsole takes on a tonal tan finish with white splatter paint details, adding a touch of contrast to the earthy upper.
The Bodega x Asics Gel-Kayano 20 Small Wins Add Up will release on September 12, 2024, through Bodega’s online and in-store locations, with a potential release via Asics and select retailers.
