Birth of The Teenager (BoTT), founded in 2019 by Tokyo-based artist TEITO, has had a meteoric rise. This can be accredited to its innovative designs and noteworthy collaborations with giants like Reebok and Converse. Riding this momentum, BoTT has teamed up with Converse Skateboarding to reinterpret two iconic Converse Skateboarding silhouettes, offering contemporary twists on classic models.
The first of the pack, the Deckstar Elite SK+, is an homage to the classic boat shoe silhouette. It boasts a premium black leather upper that effortlessly exudes sophistication. Complementary metallic silver eyestays provide contrast to the predominantly black design. Converse branding is artfully debossed on the lateral midfoot, ensuring its unmistakable identity. BoTT's emblem graces the footwear with a tasteful tag near the heel to complete the look, all set upon a sturdy black rubber midsole and outsole.
Transitioning from the Deckstar's dark elegance, the Proride SK Ox+ dazzles with its refreshing icy blue suede finish. Dark blue star graphics sporadically decorate the design, offering a playful touch to the otherwise serene aesthetic. The tonal laces seamlessly blend with the upper, while the BoTT logo at the heel mirrors its counterpart's placement. The sneaker rests on a contrasting grey rubber midsole and a tonal rubber outsole.
The BoTT x Converse Skateboarding Pack will release August 25, 2023, through BoTT, Converse, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $135 for the Proride SK Ox+ and $180 for the Deckstar Elite SK+.
