Outdoor label Climb As You Love (CAYL) is beginning to establish itself as a key player in the sneaker world, particularly with its recent collaborations with New Balance. Following their successful partnership in October, which tackled outdoor-ready silhouettes like the New Balance 610 and Fresh Foam X More Trail v3, CAYL and New Balance are set to release another exciting collaboration in 2024. The duo will work on the ever-popular 1906R model this time, bringing an outdoor-inspired twist to this classic silhouette.
The CAYL x New Balance 1906R features a redesigned upper constructed from lightweight ripstop nylon that is semi-translucent, replacing the traditional mesh or leather commonly found on the 1906R. This material choice provides a modern aesthetic, ensuring durability and breathability for outdoor adventures. Typically made of traditional materials, the overlays now boast a fused TPU construction in an eye-catching blue hue.
Black accents are strategically placed on the N logo, lacing system, tongue tag, and the CAYL logo on the lateral heel, contrasting the blue overlays. The sneaker also incorporates a quick lace setup with a lace toggle, enhancing functionality and ease of use. The shoe features a blacked-out midsole paired with a matching black outsole, ensuring style and performance.
The CAYL x New Balance 1906R will release in 2024 through CAYL, New Balance, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
