The City-Exclusive New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Collection Releases August 2024

New Balance's 991v2, a modern reinterpretation of the classic 991 silhouette, debuted last October. The model is crafted in Flimby, UK, and has garnered attention for its blend of heritage and innovation, featuring a mix of traditional craftsmanship and updated materials. So far, we’ve seen several special editions and collaborations, including a notable release with Dover Street Market to celebrate the London Marathon. As New Balance continues to explore regional exclusivity, the brand is set to launch a series of exclusive iterations of the 991v2 across the world.

All five pairs in the City-Exclusive New Balance 991v2 Made in UK collection feature a sleek black mesh base, providing a contemporary contrast to its premium pigskin suede overlays. The suede used generously across the mudguard, midfoot, and heel is highlighted in an accenting hue, creating a bold visual impact. Grey tones on the toebox overlays, lace set, and tongue tag offer a subtle counterbalance to the vivid pink details.

The branding on this model has been thoughtfully updated; Made in England is proudly displayed on the tongue tag, and a v2 logo is now featured on the tongue and heel. This new design replaces the traditional 991 branding on the lateral heel. Completing the design, a grey and black foam midsole with FuelCell cushioning ensures comfort and support, paired with a matching tonal outsole for a cohesive finish.

Breaking down the regions, the US will see its Blue colorway released exclusively via Social Status. Japan's Pink pair will be released only at atmos Tokyo. The EU's Green rendition comes via Starcow Paris. China gets a Red colorway from New Balance Grey. Finally, Asia Pacific sees two retailers — Up There and Case Study — release a Yellow rendition.

The City-Exclusive New Balance 991v2 Made in UK will have a sporadic release, with each region getting a different drop date. The EU is up first with a drop on the 10th, Japan on the 14th, the US on the 17th, China on the 21st, and finally Asia-Pacific on the 28th. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
