Based in Amsterdam, Daily Paper has long championed the brand’s African roots through its designs. While it’s been quite some time since they’ve launched a footwear collaboration, the last being in 2017 with Puma, the brand is now working with Converse for the first time to launch a pack of Chuck 70s.
Two separate versions of the Chuck 70 Hi are present, one being the standard Chuck 70 Hi while the other comes in the De Luxe Squared variant, first introduced earlier this year. The regular Chuck features a black-based canvas upper with Pan-African colors throughout the design. These red and green hues appear on the lace set, split between red and green on the right and left, respectively, and the Daily Paper branding on the lateral collar. Embroidered into the upper are various patterns, including branding for Daily Paper, which comes with a reflective finish. Final details include the red and yellow exposed stitching on the tongue, heel, edge of the upper, and the white midsole and Pan-African flag-laden outsole.
On the De Luxe Squared, things remain more neutral and tonal, with an all-over black finish accented by Pan-African colors. These shades come placed on the laces, which weave in and out of the TPU, and metallic eyelets. Daily Paper branding is debossed onto the lateral side of the upper in a tonal finish, while the Converse All-Star patch on the medial side features more hits of Pan-African colors. Underfoot sits a chunky black midsole paired with a rubber outsole containing the Pan-African flag.
The Daily Paper x Converse Chuck 70 Pack will release on October 1, 2024, through Converse, Nike SNKRS, and Daily Paper online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, both pairs will retail for $110.
