Devin Booker Debuts an Alternate Version of His Nike Book 1 Mowabb in Trail Ends Brown

Vintage and retro silhouettes have helped inform the actual design of Devin Booker’s first signature sneaker with Nike, the Nike Book 1, and the colorways applied to the model. Clear nods to Nike’s past have come via PE and GR renditions, including homages to the Nike Cortez Forrest Gump and the Nike ACG Mowabb Twine. Ahead of the ACG-inspired colorway’s release, Devin took the floor against the Pelicans last night in an unseen colorway of the Mowabb Book 1.

Directly inspired by the ACG Mowabb Trail Ends Brown, one of the original colorways of the Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette from 1991, the pair applies a similar color palette and colorblocking to the Book 1. Premium brown suede details line the mudguard, toebox, and eyelets, contrasting the vibrant purple mesh on the tongue and the perforated suede on the collar. A slightly different shade of brown is applied for its canvas twill midfoot panel.

Furthering the contrast are hits of black along the lace set, Swoosh, and heel tab, with the Swoosh logo outlined in purple textiles. Book branding and the sockliner both take on yellow hues slightly different from the orange found on the original ACG Mowabb. Finishing the sneaker is the rubber midsole in brown with a white speckle pattern and a black rubber outsole.

The Nike Book 1 Mowabb Trail Ends Brown will remain a PE for Devin Booker and not see a public release. However, if you’re looking for a vintage-inspired Book 1, the Mowabb colorway, inspired by the Twine colorway, is releasing on March 1, 2025.
