Devin Booker’s affinity for retro and vintage anything is well documented. The 29-year-old showcases this love through his collection of clothing and cars and his signature sneaker with Nike, the Nike Book 1. While we’ve seen the model pay homage to vintage and retro designs from Nike, like the ACG Mowabb and Air Penny 5 colorways, the sneaker is now getting a makeover inspired by vintage Kentucky Wildcats uniforms.
The Book 1 previously emerged in an exclusive colorway for the University of Kentucky, paying homage to the school’s 1996 season when the school went 34-2 and won the national championship against Syracuse. However, this pair that will be released to the public harkens back to the team’s uniforms from that season, which featured denim construction alongside typical jersey materials. Most paneling comes in light blue denim to honor this iconic uniform design.

Darker Kentucky blue hues land on the lace set, sockliner, mini Swoosh on the vamp, and the woven tongue label, the latter featuring an embroidered wildcat caricature that looks similar to the school’s logo from 1986 to 2005. Along the midfoot, the Swoosh comes in a light-washed blue denim, outlined in a sail white textile. Final details include a number one embroidered on the lateral heel and a sail midsole and outsole.
The Nike Book 1 Blue Blood will release on April 1, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $140.
