Over the last few years, we’ve seen DMV-based retailer DTLR link up with New Balance to launch multiple exclusive colorways of various silhouettes. This year alone, we’ve seen the duo launch the kids’ exclusive 990v6 Gelato, a Purple Noir 2002R, and the Cyan Burst 9060. Now, for the first time, DTLR and New Balance are coming together to work on the 1906R silhouette, a model that has seen immense hype surrounding it thanks to plenty of collaborative projects.
The model's vibrant color palette captures the wonder and allure of space exploration as it takes inspiration from the ceaseless pursuit of the stars and journey towards significant life achievements. A breathable open-celled mesh base comes in energy lime, contrasting the black and blue leather overlays around the toe and midfoot. Pops of dynomite, a shade of orange, land on the lace set, nodding to NASA's Advanced Crew Escape Suit, which astronauts wear during launches and landings. Tying in the cosmos theme is the sole unit, coming in a mixture of metallic silver, purple, and orange, with the purple portion featuring a star-covered splatter pattern.
The New Balance 1906R Starry Nights will release on October 11, 2024, exclusively through DTLR online and in-store. Available in men’s, gradeschool, and preschool sizing, the retail price is set at $180, $135, and $125, respectively.
