London-based designer Feng Chen Wang, known for her avant-garde and structurally complex designs, has again teamed up with Converse to extend their line of innovative footwear. This partnership, consistently delivering compelling takes on classic silhouettes, introduces new Chuck 70 Ox 2-in-1 colorways. This latest release demonstrates a continued evolution in sneaker design, emphasizing Wang’s distinct approach to deconstruction and reconstruction.
Feng Chen Wang’s Converse Chuck 70 Ox 2-in-1 silhouette features a daring doubled-up design, merging two halves of different sneakers to create a singular, cohesive unit. This design philosophy reflects that separate elements combine to form something more significant. Available in two stark colorways—Black and Egret—this variant of the Chuck Taylor showcases contrasting styles.
The Egret colorway features a black mesh base with egret-colored canvas overlays. In contrast, the Black variant boasts an all-black upper punctuated by white stitching for a striking visual contrast. Both versions include a new hook-and-loop strap adorned with Feng Chen Wang’s branding, adding a personalized touch. The design is completed with a doubled, stacked sole containing a distinctive cutout in the center, enhancing the shoe’s unique profile and adding unexpected functionality.
The Feng Chen Wang x Converse Chuck 70 Ox 2-in-1 Pack will release exclusively through Feng Chen Wang on April 30, 2024, followed by a global release on May 9, 2024, at Converse and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $130. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
