We get our first look at the next LaMelo Ball signature sneaker from Puma, and it’s more of the same, which is DEFINITELY NOT a bad thing when it comes to the young star’s signature sneaker line. The Puma MB.02 features a similar shape to the first, with the same rocket thrust design printed onto the upper. This time, instead of the flames being stitched into the upper and appearing to come down from the rocket leg tattoo on LaMelo’s leg, the flames are larger and printed onto the upper, bursting from the toe of the sneaker instead. The layered mesh upper is features fuse reinforcements on the toe rand, as well as the eyelets, adding some potential color blocking panels on the otherwise one-piece upper.
There is also no lateral midsole reinforcement by way of TPU welds, as this midsole reveals the entirety of the foam, typically signaling either a denser, stiffer foam being used, or pointing to the potential of a denser foam carrier for bouncier, softer foam to be injected. In addition, the heel-to-toe transition looks to be slightly heightened compared to the MB.01, which would aid LaMelo in keeping off of his heels and force him onto his toes as he’s looking to make plays for his teammates in transition.
The Puma MB.02 is set to debut later in 2022. It will drop at Puma as well as select retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Pricing is to be announced, but we expect it to be are the same as the Puma MB.01. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
