Hiroshi Fujiwara has taken to Instagram to hint at the much-anticipated return of the fragment design x Nike Dunk High "New York." In his post, it appears the designer is wearing a sample reproduction of the 13-year-old shoe. Initially released in 2010 as part of the "City Pack," the New York colorway of the Dunk High has remained one of the most sought after from the collection. While we did see reports of the whole pack returning in 2021, the “Bejing” pair was the only one to be retroed.
The fragment design x Nike Dunk High New York is marked by its premium construction, co-branded details — and most importantly, its split colorway. The left sneaker comes dressed like a “Chicago” Dunk High, while the other pair features a dark navy, white, and black finish. fragment’s iconic lightning bolt logo is then stamped atop the lateral heel overlay in white.
The fragment design x Nike Dunk High New York hasn’t been confirmed to see a retro release, but it's possible we will see the pair return in 2024 through Nike, fragment, and select retailers online and in-store.
