Gallery Dept., a name synonymous with the synthesis of streetwear and luxury, has been impressing sneakerheads and fashion enthusiasts alike with their recent footwear endeavors. With the sneaker community still buzzing about the yet-to-be-released initial Asics design from Gallery Dept. on the Gel-1130, the duo's GT-2160 project has surfaced.
This collaboration is a meticulously crafted sneaker containing an artful blend of mesh, leather, and suede materials. Asics' signature metallic silver graces the mesh base, lending a contemporary flair to the design. Gallery Dept.'s unmistakable branding finds its home on a tag near the lateral heel and inside on the insole. Asics logos maintain their traditional placement atop the tongue. Familiar details from the GT-2160 remain, including leather overlays, further accentuated with shades of blue. What sets this pair apart is its multi-color splatter finish across the upper, lending it a worn-in look. To finish the design, a white and blue foam midsole offers style and comfort.
The Gallery Dept. x Asics GT-2160 was initially thought to be a ComplexCon exclusive release, but Gallery Dept. announced it will release on December 8th. A worldwide release is set to follow on December 15 at Asics and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail for this pair is $295.
