Gallery Dept.'s reputation in the fashion world remains unrivaled, establishing itself as an influential label that consistently sets the benchmark for contemporary fashion. Following its collaborations in footwear with Vans on the Old Skool and multiple models with Asics, Gallery Dept. is again joining forces with the Cali-based skate brand. This time, the collaboration digs deep into Vans' archive, revisiting the Vans Rowley XLT, a signature silhouette of pro skater Geoff Rowley.
This collaborative rendition of the Vans Rowley XLT is a testament to art and edginess. Constructed with superior leather, its foundation is predominantly black, acting as a canvas for the vivid flame graphics that transition from a fiery orange to a deep red. This is complemented by zebra print detailing, specifically on the iconic Jazz Stripe, adding another layer of artistic expression to the design. The shoe doesn't just stop at visual appeal; the white lace set contrasts effectively against the dark backdrop. A message from the heart of Gallery Dept. finds its way to the heel with "ART THAT KILLS" embroidered in bold red, echoing the red of the sockliner. This artistic masterpiece sits atop a cohesive black midsole and outsole, ensuring durability matches its style.
Alongside this Flames colorway, four more renditions of Gallery Dept.'s collaborative Vans Rowley XLT appeared. One pair comes in Blue Steel while the other uses a Neopolitan color scheme. After that, we also see Giraffe and Multi iterations. Each features a leather and suede construction with Gallery Dept branding found atop the tongue, on the insole, and the reverse on the tongue tag.
The Gallery Dept. x Vans Rowley XLT Pack will release on November 10, 2023, exclusively through Gallery Dept. A wider release for the Blue Steel and Neopolitan pairs will follow on November 11 at Vans and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
