If you told sneakerheads even two years back that Saucony would be a hyped destination for designers and collaborators to tell their stories, they’d probably look at you crazy. But thanks to the likes of Jae Tips, Saucony’s “cool” factor has exploded. Hip-hop star and Griselda member Westside Gunn has taken to Instagram to announce that he will work with Saucony on multiple sneakers.
In Westside Gunn’s post, he thanks Jae Tips for opening the door for him to work with Saucony and states that “BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING” and that he’s ready to “make some of the flyest kicks ever.” The photos he posted reveal his visit to Saucony’s design lab, where he could view samples of upcoming inline footwear releases. He also includes CADs of the first samples of his two sneakers, the ProGrid Omni 9 and ProGrid Triumph 4. On the Omni 9, we see a mixture of black, volt green, walnut, and grey, with pops of red seen across various panels. It doesn’t appear there are any co-branded details, though considering these are early samples, that is likely to change. For the Triumph 4, the upper comes primarily in a royal blue hue, with overlays coming in yellow and black.
Both pairs from Westside Gunn’s debut Saucony collaboration are expected to release in 2025, as noted by the top of the PDF. As of now, pricing and sizing have not been confirmed.
