One of Paris’ most renowned fashion designers, Isabel Marant, is known for blending high fashion with effortless style, creating collections that exude “effortless luxury.” Her work has been grounded in spontaneity, freedom, and a nonconformist edge — something that Converse can relate to. Teaming up together for the first time, Marant and Converse are helping introduce the new wedge heel Chuck Taylors alongside standard Chuck 70 High and Low colorways.
The collection is headlined by the introduction of the Chuck 70 Wedge, a brand-new silhouette designed by Isabel Marant herself. Inspired by her pioneering sneaker wedge trend from the 2010s, this model features a hidden 2.5-inch wedge heel, adding a dose of elevation to the classic Chuck 70 design. The collection also includes reimagined versions of the Chuck 70 High and Low, each crafted with Marant’s signature frayed cotton and polyester Jacquard upper, raw-edge canvas overlays, and multi-color pinstripes. Branding for Isabel Marant is found via the tongue tag and insole, while the lateral side contains the designer’s logo. On the medial, we see the usual Chuck Taylor All-Star patch on the high-top variants. Laces contrast the neutral uppers with a multi-color tie-dye finish that mimics the look of the custom insole graphic.
The Isabel Marant x Converse Collection will release on September 11, 2024, exclusively through Isabel Marant stores and her online shop, with a wider release on September 12 via Converse and select retailers. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $190 for the Chuck 70 Internal Wedge, $150 for the Chuck 70 High, and $140 for the Chuck 70 Low.
