Puma's history in motorsports began in 2001 when the now-defunct F1 team Jordan Grand Prix sported Puma footwear and gear during races. Over two decades later, Puma is now the official partner for F1, producing gear for fans and gear for teams. Alongside collaborations with Mercedes AMG Petronas and a partnership with A$AP Rocky, the German sportswear label is teaming up with Mercedes AMG for a series of Puma Palermo colorways.
The Mercedes AMG x Puma Palermo Pack presents a fresh perspective on the Puma Palermo silhouette, infusing it with the high-octane spirit of Mercedes AMG. Each pair is available in three dynamic colorways—Black Orange, Blue Yellow, and Tan Gum—and embodies the essence of speed and style. The sneakers feature a luxurious combination of suede and canvas across the upper, with the primary color dominating the palette, complemented by an accent color on the Puma formstrip for a striking contrast.
The Palermo branding traditionally found on the midfoot makes way for the iconic AMG logo, further accentuated by a suede hangtag bearing the same emblem. Inside, the insole boasts a graphic representation of a mid-90s Mercedes AMG E Class. At the same time, the tongue tag is adorned with the prestigious AMG crest, tying back to the collaboration's automotive inspiration. The design is completed with a durable gum rubber sole unit, ensuring these sneakers stand out on the street and in the stands.
The Mercedes AMG x Puma Palermo Pack will release in 2024 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
