New Balance continues to capitalize on the growing trend of reviving archival silhouettes, with the New Balance 1000 being the latest model to make a comeback. Initially launched in 1999, this retro runner has been reintroduced to the sneaker world with classic and modern updates. Joe Freshgoods first reintroduced this silhouette in April, setting the stage for a series of releases, including collaborations from Aime Leon Dore and inline colorways galore. Following up on looks at the Red Black colorway, New Balance is prepping to launch the model in a Sea Salt Heron Blue colorway.
The New Balance 1000 Sea Salt Heron Blue features a gradient upper that transitions from a deep blue at the toe to a lighter blue towards the heel, creating a visually striking effect. This gradient mesh base is flanked by large wavy leather panels in crisp white, adding a clean contrast to the design. Yellow embroidered details accentuate the edges of these panels, and the 1000 branding on the lateral toe and tongue, and the iconic N logo on the midfoot. Inside sits more yellow, found via the internal heel counter, while the rest of the sockliner comes in grey hues. The look is completed with a cream foam midsole, enhanced with blue accents at the heel and toe, and a tri-color outsole featuring black, blue, and yellow.
The New Balance 1000 Sea Salt Heron Blue will release on August 21, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
