New Balance continues to innovate within its storied lineup of running shoes, adapting classic designs to meet contemporary fashion trends and functional needs. Building on the success of the 1906R, the brand expands its range with the 1906L loafer, a stylish yet practical reinterpretation that leans into the trend of mule slip-on silhouettes. A new Brown Navy iteration has emerged following looks at the Junya Watanabe collaboration and inline colorways like Metallic Silver and Kelly Green.
The New Balance 1906L Loafer Brown Navy maintains the iconic design elements that have defined its predecessors. It features a mesh base complemented by nubuck overlays. These elements echo the original 1906R’s design but with a twist suitable for off-track wear. This model is distinguished by a navy-colored mesh that serves as the backdrop for rich brown nubuck, adding a touch of sophistication.
The loafer design eliminates traditional laces, replacing them with a practical strap across the forefoot for a secure fit. This design choice enhances comfort and contributes to a sleeker, streamlined profile. Structural support is not compromised, with the original lattice TPU heel counter retained. The ensemble is completed with a grey and blue foam midsole and a durable black rubber outsole, ensuring that style meets functionality.
The New Balance 1906L Loafer Brown Navy will release in 2024 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
