It’s not uncommon for brands to tap into the energy brought forth by collaborators for inline products, utilizing similar color palettes, material makeovers, or even design motifs. New Balance is doing just that with a two-pack of 1906R colors that takes its material makeup and color palette from the recent Climb As You Love x NB 1906R project that dropped over the summer.
Like CAYL’s take on the silhouette, a thin ripstop nylon is attached to the upper base layer, with the overlays no longer constructed out of your typical suede or leather. Instead, the triangular-shaped panels are applied via a fused TPU material, adding structure and stability while reducing weight and giving the sneaker a familiar appearance. Both pairs feature a black TPU heel counter, black N branding on the midfoot, and black details along the tongue and sockliner, with one pair sticking to the black theme throughout the design.
The second pair in the collection comes in a similar pale yellow finish grounded by the aforementioned black details and the black hues applied to the quick lace set-up. Both colors below feature the updated 1906R tooling, directly taken from the New Balance 860v2, with an accenting hit appearing on the NERGY branding near the lateral midfoot.
The New Balance 1906R Ripstop Pack will release in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. However, an early release before the rest of the world will take place via UK-based retailer size? in the coming weeks. As of now, pricing information has yet to be announced.
