From the traditional 1906R to more avant-garde takes like the 1906D, 1906L, and 1906A, New Balance offers a wide range of 1906 models. Alongside these versions is the Utility (1906U) version, which adds extra paneling and materials to the mesh runner. Following up on the launch of Concepts’ take on the sneaker and a teaser from Bricks & Wood of their 1906U, more inline variants of the New Balance 1906U are arriving.
A mixture of mesh weaves alongside suede, nubuck, and leather, the upper is doused in a cream hue for its mesh base. Asymmetrical paneling on the toe swaps between suede in grey and green and leather in an olive hue, while the midfoot features a large triangular-shaped overlay in a pale nude shade. Below this panel, which hosts 1906U branding and rests along the N logo, are more olive green leather hits, wrapping up to the eyelets. TPU on the heel reinforces the upper and comes in a tonal tan finish, matching the shade on the overlay atop the tongue. Below sits a cream, brown, and green midsole borrowed from the 860v2 paired with a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 1906U Linen Dark Olivine has already been released at select retailers in the US, with a wider global launch via overseas retailers and newbalance.com coming later in 2024.
