New Balance has forever been renowned as one of the better quality mass-produced footwear labels as they often utilize factories in the North East US to create the infamous Made in USA series, however, across the pond in Flimby, UK the label crafts its ultra-premium Made In UK line. Even though they don’t pump out the numbers seen for the MIUSA collection, that just leads to an even higher quality release and the latest fits the bill - the New Balance 991 Made In UK “Brown.”
Covered in premium pigskin suede, leather, and mesh, the silhouette is dressed almost entirely in tonal brown shades from head to toe with accenting white, black, and cream hits seen throughout. Brown suedes cover the mudguard, eyestays, quarter panel, and heel while overlays along the toebox and collar come in leather. Below all of this sits a brown mesh, accented by a grey hit on the vamp and white piping along the midfoot’s “N” logo. Further hits of white come along the tongue’s New Balance branding while grey hits make their mark on the sockliner and TPU eyelets. Rounding out the look is the two-tone cream and white midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 991 Made In UK Brown is set to release in 2023 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
