New Balance's Made in UK series, known for its exceptional craftsmanship and premium material selection, is set to release a new gem from its Flimby factory: the New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Black. This upcoming release continues the brand's commitment to quality and innovation, building upon the legacy of the original 991 model introduced 23 years ago. The 991v2 first gained attention through a collaboration with Stone Island and subsequent inline colorways like Grey and Navy. This new Black rendition is another significant addition to the series, showcasing New Balance's ability to create timeless classics that resonate with sneaker enthusiasts worldwide.
The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Black boasts a sophisticated design, blending different materials for a premium look and feel. The upper features pigskin suede, mesh, and leather, all doused in rich black hues. The pigskin suede overlays add a luxurious texture, while the dark grey mesh base provides breathability and comfort. The toe is adorned with 3M reflective leather overlays, providing functionality and style.
Branding details on this model are subtly updated from the standard 991, including "991" and "v2" on the lateral heel and heel tab, respectively. Aside from this, we see the usual “N” on the midfoot and the New Balance text placed on the tongue. The sneaker is underpinned by a grey and white foam midsole incorporating FuelCell cushioning technology for superior comfort. A black and grey rubber outsole completes the design, offering durability and traction.
The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Black will release in 2024 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
