New Balance's Made in UK line has delivered some of the highest quality footwear over the last 40-plus years. Of all the models from the Flimby factory, the 991 and the new 991v2 are often the most common, with the second version getting a big push since its introduction last year. Following up on the Dover Street Market exclusive and Blue Silver colorways, arguably the cleanest yet has emerged as part of the Vintage Sport pack, which already includes the 1500.
The 991v2 Vintage Sport transforms into a refined color palette that combines off white, blanc de blanc, and savvy red, showcasing a commitment to understated style paired with premium materials. The sneaker features a luxurious upper crafted from pigskin suede in a subtle greyish tone covering the mudguard, midfoot, and heel. Complementing this is a white mesh base that enhances breathability, accented with 3M reflective elements on the toebox overlays, lateral heel, and heel tab, adding a touch of visibility and flair.
The design is detailed with navy accents that outline the tongue and highlight the Made in England text, while pops of red on the New Balance 991 branding on the tongue and midsole pods inject a vibrant contrast. This meticulously designed sneaker features a cream foam midsole with strategically placed red and blue pods to ensure comfort and support. It is completed with a classic gum rubber outsole for durable traction.
The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Off White will release June 13, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $260.
