New Balance introduced the world to the 991 in 2001, and since then, the model has been synonymous with high-quality craftsmanship due to its Made in UK construction. Twenty-two years later, the Boston-based footwear label upgraded us with the 991v2, slightly reworking the sneaker and adding updated cushioning. For its latest makeover, the silhouette is getting a Rosewood color palette.
Launching alongside the Blue Silver colorway, the New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Rosewood marries luxury with heritage, offering a fresh take on the beloved silhouette. Its construction showcases a harmonious blend of pigskin suede and nubuck overlays, complemented by a durable mesh base. The sneaker is enveloped in rich rosewood hues across the mudguard, midfoot, and heel, with additional brownish-red accents adorning the midfoot and collar overlays. Cream tones lighten the toebox overlays and tongue, while grey elements provide a neutral base, ensuring the vibrant rosewood pops. The design is perfected with a grey and cream midsole that features energetic volt green accents, all sitting atop a robust black and grey outsole.
The New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Rosewood will release in March 2024 through New Balance and select retailers both online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the sneaker is priced at $250.
