Devin Booker has cemented his place as one of the NBA's brightest stars, and his signature sneaker with Nike, the Nike Book 1, reflects his journey and style. While the initial rollout was criticized by many, subsequent releases have garnered significant attention and praise. The anticipation continues to build with upcoming colorways like the Python in September and the Forrest Gump PE set for 2025. Now, Nike is set to drop a new iteration that will excite Phoenix Suns fans and sneakerheads: the Nike Book 1 Sunset.
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant color palette of the Phoenix Suns, the Nike Book 1 Sunset features a canvas upper drenched in a tonal purple shade, exuding a sleek and cohesive look. The purple outline of the Swoosh almost seamlessly blends into the upper, creating a harmonious design. Orange accents highlight the Book branding on the tongue and the lining of the tongue, adding a burst of contrast. The heel sports a pink Chapter One logo, while Booker's family crest logo is subtly placed on the inside of the tongue tag, maintaining a personal touch.
Notably, the Sunset colorway omits the book spine-inspired pull tab, opting for a cleaner heel design. The midsole, crafted from purple rubber, incorporates Cushlon 2.0 foam for superior comfort. A TPU sidewall enhances support, and a top-loaded Zoom Air unit in the heel ensures responsive cushioning. The clear rubber outsole features a striking gradient pattern, transitioning from pinkish purples to orange from heel to toe, completing the sunset-inspired aesthetic.
The Nike Book 1 Sunset will release on November 15, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
