Although the Olympics will no longer host breakdancing as an official sport, Nike plans to push forward with new colorways of its first-ever breakdancing sneaker, the Nike Jam. Aside from the Futura collab, the debut color schemes stayed in the realm of earth tones, with new variants featuring pops of color, like on the recently released Pine Green rendition. Now, a brand new Metallic Silver University Red color scheme has appeared.
Drawing inspiration from silhouettes in the heyday of b-boying, the model combines mesh, suede, tumbled leather, and nylon. Black mesh takes over the base layer, visible along the toebox, portions of the midfoot, and collar. Metallic silver tumbled leather overlays find a home on the mudguard and along the wavy panels of the midfoot, contrasted by a red and black Swoosh. Continuing with the silver-grey hues are the suede eyelets and neoprene tongue, the latter containing black Nike branding embroidered up top. Back on the base layer, we see a split design between black mesh and grey jersey mesh bordered by a nylon strip with 3M reflective details. Finishing the design is the white foam midsole with an upside-down Swoosh, placed to appear in the correct orientation when doing headspins, paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Nike Jam Metallic Silver University Red releases in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
