With rumors swirling around a possible trade request from Kevin Durant, Nike is still looking to the NBA superstar to hold up their Basketball division. While the section of Nike may not garner the same demand it once did during the early 2010s, Kevin Durant kicks are one of their best sellers. Now his latest signature sneaker, the KD 15, gets dressed in an all too familiar "Pink Red" colorway.
The silhouette takes on a breathable mesh base which comes in a coral pink shade, accented by a semi-translucent black TPU side cage home to a light pink Nike Swoosh. Trimming the upper is a fused overlay in a darker pink shade, running to the aforementioned TPU overlay. For the mesh tongue, Nike chooses to take the shade of pink down a level while the laces placed above stay tonal compared to the rest of the upper. Atop this tongue, KD branding is present through a black plastic overlay. Back around the collar and heel, a wavy rubber overlay houses a red pull-tab, attached to the black mesh collar. On the insole, an ornate graphic featuring KD text takes on a gold hue, sitting atop the blue insole. Underfoot, a white Zoom Air cushioned midsole is paired with a marble-like pink and red rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 15 Napheesa Collier is slated to release on July 27th, 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
