Made famous by Nike SB, the “What The” design theme has landed across various silhouettes over at The Swoosh since the infamous Nike SB Dunk Low “What The” hit shelves in 2007. This theme even makes its way over to Nike Basketball occasionally, as recently seen with Paul George’s Nike PG 6 receiving the mismatched treatment. Now, ahead of Kevin Durant’s latest signature silhouette, the Nike KD 16, The Swoosh takes a slew of colorways from the line to create the Nike KD 15 “What The.”
Keeping the same construction seen on a variety of Nike KD 15 colorways, we see a fusion of colorways like the “Aunt Pearl,” “NY Courts,” “Boarder Blue,” and “B.A.D.,” to name a few. Purple shades take over the engineered mesh on the right sneaker, while the left pair features pink hits, though both come with a glow-in-the-dark exoskeleton cage on the left side and a purple one on the left. The tongue’s also come split as the “Aunt Pearl” tongue is placed on the left, and the graphic on the “Boarder Blue” pair is featured on the right. Other mismatched details include the laces, KD branding on the tongue, sockliner, and collar portions, the latter of which features the “NY Courts” graffiti-like graphic on the left pair. Underfoot sits an Air Zoom-cushioned midsole (yellow on the right and purple on the left) paired with a multi-color rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 15 What The will be released in Summer 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
