While Kevin Durant and the Phoneix Suns await their next opponent in the NBA Playoffs, the sneaker world paid more attention to the kicks KD rocked on the court against the Clippers. While Durant showcased some press images of the KD 16 on his Instagram (and was spotted rocking an all-black colorway), we now have an official look at the “NY vs. NY” colorway.
Official tech specs on Durant’s latest performance basketball sneaker are still to come, but we can see this NY vs. NY pair boasts a vibrant mix of red, cream, and metallic gold with a low-top construction. Across the upper, we see a combination of leather and mesh with the latter receiving an animal print. Durant branding finds a home on the tongue, which features a lenticular finish with the phrase “NY vs. NY.” Metallic gold accents hit the Swoosh logo along the collar and the “Easy” logo on the heel, while creamy hits take over the lace set and internal lining. Underfoot sits a red foam midsole and creamy outsole.
The Nike KD 16 NY vs. NY is set to release on August 12 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
