LeBron James' signature sneaker line with Nike has consistently pushed the boundaries of design. The latest in this esteemed series, the Nike LeBron 21, takes design cues and inspiration from oysters and the precious pearls they protect, drawing a parallel to LeBron and his daughter Zhuri. Following pearl-themed colorways like Akoya, Melo Melo, and Conchiolin, the LeBron 21 now draws inspiration from the ocean's depths, specifically the algae.
The Nike LeBron 21 Algae features a design that sets it apart from its predecessors. The sneaker abandons traditional leather or synthetic materials, opting for a nappy suede finish in a green hue reminiscent of the algae's natural color. The sneaker is accentuated with vapor green details, visible in the LeBron branding on the tongue, the outline of the Swoosh, sections of the heel tab, and on the eyestays.
The color scheme captures the essence of the oceanic theme while maintaining a sleek, stylish appearance. Performance-wise, the LeBron 21 is equipped with a vapor green foam midsole and outsole. This tooling houses a bottom-loaded 13mm Zoom Air bag in the heel and a top-loaded 6mm Zoom Air bag in the forefoot, combined with full-length Cushlon foam.
The Nike LeBron 21 Algae will release on January 25, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest updates on sneaker releases, raffles, and news.
