Nike has a long history of blending its iconic sneaker designs with the needs of the skateboarding community, mainly through its Nike SB division. In 2025, multiple from within Nike Inc. and Nike SB are expected to hit shelves, including a new Jordan 4 SB, and the debut of the Nike SB x Air Max 95. Following a first look at the wear-test sample, images of an early sample of the Nike SB x Air Max 95 Cactus Flower have emerged.
The Nike Air Max 95, originally designed by Sergio Lozano and first released in 1995, has long been celebrated for its unique design and performance features. Known for its gradient upper, inspired by the human anatomy, and its groundbreaking use of visible Air cushioning in the forefoot, the Air Max 95 has become a staple in streetwear and athletic circles. With 2025 marking the 30th anniversary of this iconic model, Nike is planning several high-profile releases, including retros of classic colorways like the OG Neon.

Featuring a gradient suede panel on the midfoot, the sneaker features shades of cream, grey, and black that get darker as you move up. At first glance, it appears there aren't any major updates to the model, as we still see the same mesh netting covering the nylon lace loops, standard Air Max branding on the tongue, and a mini Swoosh on the lateral collar. However, the heel tab features a hit of Nike SB branding, marking the only instance where the skateboarding divison of Nike is mentioned on the upper.
As for the skate-friendly modifications, Nike SB increased the padding on the inside of the sneaker and, using premium suede on the upper added more durable materials to make the sneaker more skateboard-friendly. The midsole remains standard with its foam construction and multiple visible Air units, but the outsole below gets a grippier traction pattern and comes in a gum finish for even better grip.
The Nike SB x Nike Air Max 95 Cactus Flower will release Fall 2025 through Nike SB retailers and possibly via Nike SNKRS. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $175.
