Over the past few years, Pharrell Williams has shown that he was, and still is, one of the industry’s most prolific collaborators. From his Superstar range that changed the fabric of the sneakersphere, to his very first NMD Hu collection which took the Nomad silhouette to a new level, it looks like he’s about to hit a home run with the Pharrell Williams x adidas NMD_S1 "Humanrace."
The NMD_S1 has released in a selection of inline colorways and Skateboard P has already given it his own spin with the RYAT rendition, but the pair that we saw on his feet during the Billionaire Boys Club x New York Yankees launch is neither of these. Boasting an all-new design, the white Primeknit upper has been significantly reworked for a sleek and streamlined aesthetic, while the monofilament mesh paneling from previous colorways has been completely removed. Oversized “Humanrace” branding in blue lands on the lateral and curves towards the front of the NMD. This is complemented by the extra chunky Boost midsole down below. While this silhouette is extremely contemporary, the outsole references the classic Marathon model from the ‘80s, complete with the repeated Trefoil branding.
Not much else is known about the Pharrell Williams x adidas NMD_S1 Humanrace at this moment in time, but rumor has it they will release sometime in late 2022/early 2023 in men’s sizes. A price tag has yet to be made official, but you should be able to secure a pair at adidas, the CONFIRMED app, and a select few retailers both online and in-store.
