The NBA season tips off in less than a week, and LaMelo Ball hopes to have a more extended season this year. The Charlotte Hornets star point guard was sidelined in the 2023-2024 season following an injury in January. While his on-court signature sneaker line with Puma has expanded since he last played in an NBA game, he’s also introduced an off-the-court lifestyle sneaker, the Puma LaFrance, in his time off. On the heel of the LaFrance in the Assist colorway hitting shelves, we have an official look at the next colorway — Gifted.
LaMelo and Puma stick to the monochromatic theme seen in the last two colorways, with the Gifted rendition coming coated in a bright orange hue that likely nods to Ball’s basketball prowess. The chunky Lanvin and Y2K skate shoe influence remains strong across the leather and canvas construction, with the midfoot featuring circular panels of canvas that host nylon lace loops. Oversized laces continue the orange theme across the upper, while black details land on the LaFrance and Puma branding on the vamp and tongue and the LaFrance logo on the heel spoiler. Underfoot, the chunky midsole in orange features plenty of nods to LaMelo Ball and his LaFrance label, while the rubber outsole below comes with split LaFrance and Puma text in black.
The Puma LaFrance Gifted will release on November 8, 2024, through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is $110 and $95, respectively.
