LaMelo Ball's partnership with Puma has quickly become a standout success story in the sneaker world. The MB.01, Ball's first signature shoe, not only captured the attention of basketball enthusiasts but also became a must-have item for sneaker collectors. Even as Puma has moved forward with the MB.03 and glimpses of the MB.04 have made it online, the MB.01 continues to receive new colorways, each reflecting the innovative design and vibrant energy LaMelo brings to the court. The latest release, the Puma MB.01 Thermal, showcases a colorway that was once exclusive to LaMelo Ball himself.
The Puma MB.01 Thermal features a dynamic ripstop and monomesh upper, designed for durability and breathability. The toe area is dominated by a striking volt green shade, setting the stage for the eye-catching thermal heat pattern adoring the mesh panels along the midfoot and heel. A red embroidered phoenix wing motif graces the lateral collar, symbolizing LaMelo's rise in basketball.
At the same time, the tongue continues the phoenix theme, adding a bold touch to the design. Red accents are further seen on the laces, tongue tag, and sockliner, creating a cohesive and vibrant look. The sneaker sits atop a green foam midsole featuring X details near the heel, enhanced with Puma's Nitro Foam cushioning technology. It is finished with a green and black outsole for optimal traction.
The Puma MB.01 Thermal will release on July 26, 2024, through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, men’s sizes will retail for $140, grade school for $120, and preschool for $90.
