LaMelo Ball's entry into the Puma family with the launch of the MB.01 was nothing short of a spectacle, helping spark interest in Puma’s re-entry into the basketball footwear space. As we approach 2024, Puma is revisiting the silhouette that started it all, this time with a vibrant twist. Following up on looks at the MB.04, MB.03 Low, and the MB.03 Tie-Dye, the MB.01 gets its own "Toxic" color scheme with the Inverse Toxic edition.
This latest iteration of the MB.01 gets a material makeover with a ripstop and monomesh upper adorned with a captivating tie-dye pattern. Volt green acts as its base color, accented with swirls of pink and purple throughout. The result is a visually striking sneaker bound to turn heads on and off the court. Pink details are strategically placed on the branding elements, including the toe, vamp, tongue, and lace set, adding to the vibrant aesthetic of the sneaker. The signature Phoenix wing embroidery, a hallmark of LaMelo's Puma MB.01, is subtly included in a tonal volt shade on the lateral side. Completing the design is a foam midsole in pink and purple, showcasing an X pattern on the heel, which sits atop a grippy pink rubber outsole.
The Puma MB.01 Inverse Toxic will release April 12, 2024, through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
