One of the most prominent sneaker retailers on the planet, Foot Locker, is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2024. Since its founding on September 12, 1974, Foot Locker has become a pivotal retail partner for various brands, helping to shape the sneaker culture as we know it today. Many brands are joining the celebration with exclusive releases to commemorate this momentous anniversary. Among them is Puma, which has crafted a special colorway of LaMelo Ball's Puma MB.01.
Going perfectly with the Foot Locker uniform, the Puma MB.01 Foot Locker 50th Anniversary features a striking design with primarily white and black hues accented by golden details. The sneaker boasted a black monomesh base on the toe and fused TPU on the mudguard, eyestays, and vamp. A white and black circular pattern is applied to the tongue, midfoot, and collar, while black textile embroidered into the lateral midfoot creates the iconic phoenix wing design. Golden accents highlight the TPU along the toe, vamp, and leather pull tab atop the tongue, adding a touch of elegance. Inside, the sneaker features a special logo celebrating Foot Locker's 50th Anniversary. Underfoot, a white foam midsole with Nitro Foam cushioning and black TPU X reinforcements near the midfoot and heel pair with a white rubber outsole for optimal performance and comfort.
The Puma MB.01 Foot Locker 50th Anniversary will release in 2024 through Foot Locker and Puma online and in-store, likely in September to coincide with the 50th Anniversary date. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
