As SLAM Magazine wraps up its milestone 30th Anniversary, the iconic basketball publication ended 2024 with a nod to one of the most polarizing sneakers in adidas history: the adidas Crazy Two. Originally released in 2001 as the final signature sneaker of Kobe Bryant when he was under contract with adidas, the Crazy Two was ahead of its time with an automotive-inspired design that split opinions yet captivated sneaker culture. Now, ahead of general release colorways hitting shelves in 2025, it’s making a grand comeback with a special friends-and-family retro edition crafted by SLAM.
SLAM’s two adidas Crazy Two colorways bring to life the bold design of the original model, reimagined through a vivid lens inspired by Kobe Bryant’s first-ever SLAM cover on Issue #15. Each colorway comes wrapped in premium suede and accented with vibrant teal and yellow hues, reflecting the shades that framed Bryant’s breakout cover moment. SLAM’s signature Three Stars embroidery appears on the tongue, while brick-patterned insoles and a 30th Anniversary crest on the heel further tie the design to the publication’s storied history.
Unfortunately, the public will not have a shot at these two SLAM x adidas Crazy Two colorways as they’re limited to friends-and-family of the publication. While these special versions are not widely available, adidas fans can look forward to retro Crazy Two releases throughout 2025.
