Footwear has always been a means for brands to not only create fashionable looks but to celebrate special occasions or pay homage to certain locations. While Nike has been leading the train in terms of celebrating cities with their upcoming ATL Pack and the H-Town-inspired AF1, adidas is joining in on the fun with the help of retailer Snipes to pay homage to Detroit, Michigan with the Snipes x adidas Forum “313.”
Coming dressed in a clean white, yellow, and navy blue colorway, the model resembles the school colors of the University of Michigan while featuring references to the city of Detroit throughout. The area code for the city, 313, is present on the collar portion and via the plastic navy lace dubrae. Beneath the lockdown strap sits the phrase “I Am Detriot” with another reference to the Motor City coming via the insole’s “Raised From Concrete” graphic. As for the rest of the model we see standard adidas Forum details including the contrasting Three Stripes logo and branding details atop the tongue. Apart from the white leather seen on the upper, yellow accents appear on the tongue and suede overlay on the heel while navy hits make their mark on the sockliner, laces, and portions of the heel and mudguard. Rounding out the look is the navy rubber outsole with a semi-translucent circle near the forefoot featuring a “D” logo.
