We already know that the coveted original Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Orlando” colorway is set for a 2022 release. Other than that, nothing regarding more drops for the Penny 1 have been announced. Stussy has a collab or two on deck for the Penny line, just not the Penny 1. That’s where Social Status comes in.
Social Status is set to be the first label to collaborate with NSW on the Nike Air Max Penny 1 since Sole Collector did so in 2011. Not much is known at this time where design inspiration comes from but one unique item stands out, removable Swooshes. The Social Status x Nike Air Max 1 Penny is dressed in grey and white. Black accents and the classic One Cent logo on the tongue complete the look. For an additional touch of flair, the Swooshes on the sides are removable and come with multiple options to swap between such as baseball and basketball themes along with volt, red and yellow colors.
The Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 1 Desert Sand is part of the Social Status's Recess Pack that will also include a "Black" Air Max Penny 1. Both pairs will drop in July via Social Status online on July 15th. Alongside the online release, an in-store raffle will be held at all Whittaker Group storefronts via appointment from July 2nd to July 7th as well as an online raffle during this same time span.
